Whiskey Wednesday! - Wednesday, July 23rd
As always, all open bottles of whiskey are 25% off a pour from 4pm-10pm. We have over 35 bottles of different Bourbon, American, Rye, Irish, Japanese and Scotch Whiskey's to try. This week we are opening 3 new bottles.
The 1st bottle is from Wilderness Trail Distillery. We have a Small Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon, Bottled-in-Bond. This Bourbon is a high rye bourbon. From whiskeyconcensus.com, "The bourbon transitions nicely across the palate as the sweet notes of vanilla and caramel are apparent. The oak also begins to shine through as an array of kitchen spices evolve. There is also a touch of astringency present."
Our 2nd bottle is from Lee's Summits, House of Veritasi. We are opening a 100-proof bottle of John Chester Ross & Sons Kansas City Whiskey, finished in Sauternes Casks. Founded in 2017, House of Veritasi is a design house and an American Independent Bottler in the legacy of arguably the most traditional bottlers of Scotch whisky. Harking back to the days when whisky was sold to grocers and merchants before distilleries bottled their stocks, we acquire stocks of spirits from around the world in casks to be aged and bottled. Unbridled by brand guidelines or requirements to adhere to a distillery’s signature characteristics, we can bring you special styles of spirits that do not follow what you would conventionally expect from the distilleries that produce them. We’re not for everyone but our principles are simple: Make/bottle what we want to drink. Be transparent about what’s in that bottle. Never filter. Flavor notes on this release are Nice amber color with wheat and oak notes, smooth with sweet vanilla cream, bold spices, and a lingering bitter finish.
Our 3rd bottle is Bardstown Discovery Series #10. This Fall 2023 release includes; 62% 9yr Kentucky Whiskey, 18% 13yr Kentucky Whiskey, 10% 10yr Geogia Whiskey, 8% 6yr Kentucky Whiskey, and 2% 10yr Tennessee Whiskey. Whiskey Advocate rated it 92 point and describes it as Very mellow with balanced sweetness on the palate, with lemon peel, soft chocolate flavors, and more brown sugar. There’s a certain lightness despite its hefty ABV, possibly because of the wheat component. The finish has great flavor, and the overall taste profile is very good.
These 3 bottles will be opened at 7pm.
